At October 19, 2022the company released dismal preliminary financial results for 3Q2022, including a $55 million pre-tax charge relating to its warranties and expenses on clean energy products, due to a distributor that had filed for bankruptcy. On this news, Generac stock fell $37.44 per share, i.e. 25%. Then on November 2, 2022the company released its third-quarter results and significantly lowered its full-year sales guidance for its solar power business by about 40% due to the loss of a major customer and $37.3 million clean energy product warranty issues. On this news, Generac shares fell again $8.99 per share, i.e. 8%.
