The Rockettes were known as the Roxyettes in honor of Rothafel from 1932 to 1934.

“The music hall’s public spaces feature murals, sculptures and other works by prominent artists of the time. These interiors are considered to be among the most impressive in the history of modern theater design, without equal to America in scale or variety of architectural, artistic, and decorative elements,” states the New York Preservation Archive Project.
