The pandemic was declared to have a favorable course. In the past week, 4,397 new sub-infected people were identified and 56 patients died in Hungary.

During the week until December 28, 2022, 4,397 new infected people were confirmed in Hungary, increasing the number of identified infected people to 2,185,816 since the beginning of the epidemic. 56 patients died last week, bringing the death toll to 48,495. The number of people who have recovered decreased to 2,123,750, and the number of active infected people decreased to 13,571 – last week’s aggregate data was announced on Wednesday from the government information portal.

Currently, 386 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 19 of them are on ventilators.

As for the vaccination campaign, the number of those vaccinated is 6,420,813, of which 6,207,249 received their second, 3,903,679 their third, and 413,303 already their fourth vaccination.

According to the announcement, the epidemic is currently moderate in Hungary, which is also the reason for the high vaccination rate. They said: the virus continues to pose the greatest threat to the unvaccinated, which is why they continue to ask for vaccination.

The booster vaccination is recommended for those who received their previous vaccination more than four months ago.

In view of the permanently favorable course of the epidemic, the koronavirus.gov.hu ​​website, which was strong during the intensive phase, will cease to exist as of January 1. Official information about the epidemic will be available to the press through MTI.
